Once the records have been assembled, you will be notified that the records are available for your review. Copies of the records can be requested after the review is completed, or you may request to have copies made without conducting a review of the files.
The Public Records officer makes records available for inspection and copying by appointment during normal business hours, excluding legal holidays. Requesters will not remove documents from the viewing area or disassemble or alter any document.
After a request has been filled, the Public Records officer may become aware of additional documents existing at the time of the request. These will be provided to the requester on an expedited basis.
Failure to Claim Records
The requester must claim or review the assembled records within 30 days of the city's notification that the records are available. If the requester fails to claim or review the records within 30 days, or make other arrangements, the city may close the request and refile the assembled records. If this should happen, a new public records request will need to be filed.
