COVID-19 Facility Rental Policy

The health and safety of our community remain our top concern, and the City of Lake Stevens is doing its part to help contain the spread of COVID-19. We are always reevaluating the balance between the community’s needs to utilize city facilities and public safety.

This COVID-19 rental policy states the rental requirements needed to reopen our facilities in alignment with the Healthy Washington – Roadmap to Recovery plan outlined by the Governor.  Information on this page is updated accordingly to the full guidelines.

Be aware that any changes in COVID-19 mandates (before or day of your event at any city facility and/or shelter rental) that renders your event non-compliant, the City is required to cancel the event and a full refund of all fees will be issued.

All renters must fill out and submit the COVID-19 Facility Use Waiver with their facility use or event application.

What's Open: Parks, Trails, Dog Parks, All Park Playgrounds, Docks and Piers, Boat Launch, Boat Moorage, All Restrooms (some restrictions apply), Farmers’ Market, Park Vendors, Picnic Shelters (size limits apply), Athletic Field Reservations with Permits

Park Rentals

Lundeen Park picnic shelter rentals – available for reservation starting March 22

North Cove Park picnic shelter rental – available for reservation starting May 1 

  • Rentals are available with up to 50 people in attendance.
  • Rental customers are expected to manage their event/meeting according to all current state and local COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
  • Renter must provide their own hand sanitizer, wipes, and other disinfectants to maintain a clean environment for their attendees.
  • Renter must inform all attending their event/meeting that they must self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving at the rented park shelter.
  • Masks are required to be worn outdoors when 6-foot physical distancing is not able to be maintained.
  • Renter will be committed to keeping a log of all attendees at event including contact information for up to two weeks after the event. This is required in the event contract tracing is necessary.
  • Guests must abide by social distancing as much as possible. 

The Mill on Lake Stevens Rental Requirements 

Indoor Weddings & Funerals and Events (includes professional and social gatherings): Indoor ceremonies and receptions, wakes, or similar gatherings in conjunction with such indoor ceremonies and events are permitted and must follow the appropriate venue guidelines.

Venue guidelines:

  • Rental customers are expected to manage their event/meeting according to all current state and local COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
  • Maximum occupancy as listed below for room capacity (not including vendors), so long as six feet of physical distancing is maintained between groups.
  • If food or drinks are served, the following eating and drinking requirements apply:
    1. No food buffets or food bars allowed i.e. self-service layouts.  
    2. Food may be served on individual plates and handed to guests or use of a pick-up station of individualized packaged food, i.e. a lunch box is allowed.
  • Masks are required to be worn indoors unless eating and drinking.
  • Rental customers are expected to manage their event/meeting according to all current state and local COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
  • Although The Mill has wall-mounted hand sanitizer stations throughout the building and cleaning supplies, the renter is encouraged to provide additional hand sanitizer, wipes, and other disinfectants to maintain a clean environment for their attendees.
  • Renter must inform all attending their event/meeting that they must self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving at the rented facility.
  • Renter will be committed to keeping a log of all attendees at the event including contact information for up to two weeks after the event. This is required in the event contract tracing is necessary.
