The City is looking to fill a variety of vacancies on City Boards and Commissions. Members of the City’s Boards and Commissions serve without compensation and must be city residents or reside within the urban growth area.
SALARY COMMISSION: 1 vacancy with a mid-term ending December 31, 2024.
The Salary Commission establishes salaries of elected officials on realistic standards so that elected officials are paid in accordance with their duties and so that citizens of the highest quality are attracted to public service. The Salary Commission meets annually between January 1 and November 1 to study and establish the salaries of elected officials.
VETERANS COMMISSION: 2 vacancies with terms ending December 31, 2024.
The Veterans Commission represents the U.S. military veteran constituency in the Lake Stevens community and works to provide support and opportunities to veterans and their families within the community. The Veterans Commission meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION: 1 vacancy with a term ending December 31, 2027.
The Civil Service Commission executes the City of Lake Stevens Civil Service Rules and Regulations in connection with the selection, appointment, and employment of police officers and department staff. The Civil Service Commission meets every other month, or as needed.
