As part of its goal of creating “One Community Around the Lake”, the city is currently pursuing an interlocal agreement with Snohomish County to annex approximately 1,000 properties within its Southeast Urban Growth Area (UGA). 

Approval of the annexation will require a public hearing before both the Lake Stevens City Council and Snohomish County Council, which is tentatively scheduled for December 2020. The Lake Stevens Sewer District and Snohomish Fire District 7 have also opted to join as parties to the agreement.

In advance of the public hearing, the city is holding a public meeting on September 21 at 6:30 pm to provide additional information and answer questions about the proposed annexation. The meeting will be held via the Zoom online platform, and will be recorded for those not able to attend.
