[ARCHIVED] Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month Proclamation

October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

On October 25, 1988, President Ronald Regan declared October National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, to recognize the unique grief of bereaved parents and demonstrate support to the many families who have suffered such a tragic loss.

At the October 25 City Council meeting, on behalf of the City Council, Mayor Gailey proclaims October 2022 as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, in honor of Elliott Ray Freed, in the city of Lake Stevens and encourages parents, caregivers, and all residents to become educated in opportunities to prevent pregnancy and infant loss and support bereaved families when prevention is not possible.
