In June 2024, the Lake Stevens Planning Commission will continue their review of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update by hosting open houses on four important Comprehensive Plan elements: transportation, capital facilities, land use and housing. Each event starts at 6:00 pm and will be held at the Mill on Lake Stevens (1808 Main Street). Members of the public are encouraged to attend and learn how the city is planning for expected growth and development over the next 20 years.
- June 3 (Transportation and Capital Facilities): The event will start with an overview of the Transportation and Capital Facilities elements, and include stations to learn more about Projected Growth, Future Conditions, Active Transportation, Road Classifications, and Capital Projects. The Planning Commission will also review draft goals and policies for each element.
- June 17 (Land Use and Housing): The event will start with an overview of the city's population and housing growth targets and include stations on Potential Map Amendments, Housing Choice, Housing Affordability, Recent State Legislation, and Equity. The Planning Commission will also review draft goals and policies for each element.
