In April, the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chief Association (WASPC) Accreditation Team completed their on-site review at the Lake Stevens Police Department to finalize the accreditation’s review and findings. Staff met and were in compliance with all 147 standards reviewed.
The accreditation is every four years with each year having to show compliance, which LSPD last accreditation was in 2020. During the accreditation, LSPD submits proofs for review each year with the largest review on the fourth year. This takes staff a tremendous amount of time, but it makes sure LSPD is meeting industry standards and complying with best practices, and State and Federal laws. The police department received recognition at the WASPC Conference last week. Chief Beazizo accepted the award along with Commander Dean Thomas and Administrative Manager Julie Ubert.
“Our staff has worked so hard to complete the accreditation process. I’m so proud of the team and all their hard work,” said Chief Beazizo. “This shows your police department’s dedication in serving the community through professional police services, organizational excellence, and community interaction!”
Also, Julie Ubert, Administrative Manager at the LSPD, was recognized at WASPC Conference for being a WASPC Accreditation mentor and assessor. Julie has helped WASPC with several LEMAP (pre-accreditation reviews). Way to go, Julie!
