[ARCHIVED] NEW EVENT! Going A Viking

GOING A VIKING square

Celebrate the mystique of ancient Viking traditions and the spirit of modern-day Lake Stevens High School Vikings with a new event, Going A Viking, Saturday, September 7, 2024, 11 am - 6 pm.  

This event is free to attend:

  • Engage in axe-throwing contests to claim the mantle of Defender of Lake Stevens.
  • Immerse yourself in Living History Exhibits showcasing dwellings, weaponry, and craftsmanship.
  • Encounter the valiant members of LSHS Viking clubs and sports teams.
  • Embark on interactive escapades like shield formations, games, and themed revelries.

Are you interested in participating in this event as a vendor? 

  1. Check out the Event Participant Call information sheet for event requirements.
  2. Complete the event vendor application and email it to the Parks Department at events@lakestevenswa.gov with the email title Going A Viking Participant Application 2024 
  3. Application deadline is Saturday, August 24. 

Come try your hand at axe throwing at this event for the chance to be named the Defender of Lake Stevens: 

  • The first preliminary starts at 12 PM and the second preliminary starts at 3 PM. 
  • The top three scores in each time will go head-to-head at 4 PM to determine who will take home the trophy and bragging rights as the Defender of Lake Stevens. 
  • Purchasing a ticket gives you a guaranteed throwing time instead of waiting in the general admission line.

Proceeds from this event help fund this event and other awesome City events like HarvestFest on Halloween, WinterFest in December, the Great Egg Hunt at the Cove in April 2025, and Gaming by the Lake in May 2025. 

To purchase a ticket for the axe-throwing contest:

  1. Visit the Catalog page; you will need to create or log into your account.
  2. Select the GOING A VIKING tab and add the number of tickets to your cart and continue through the checkout process.
  3. There are only 80 tickets available in each time slot, buy your tickets today!
