The updated draft of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan is available for public review. The Planning Commission is holding two public hearings scheduled for Wednesdays, October 2 and 9, 2024.
On July 26, 2024, the City of Lake Stevens issued a public review draft of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan, which per state law must be adopted by December 31, 2024. This follows a series of community events and Planning Commission and City Council meetings in 2023 and 2024 to review the different chapters (or "elements") and solicit and incorporate public feedback.
On September 27, 2024, the city published an updated draft in advance of public hearings before the Planning Commission on October 2, 2024 (to be continued at the October 9, 2024 special meeting) and the City Council on October 22, 2024. The meetings will start at 6 pm at The Mill (1808 Main Street) and will also be available via Zoom (Zoom links are available on the meeting agendas and city calendar pages). Written comments will be accepted through City Council adoption of the plan, and oral testimony will be accepted at both public hearings.

Property owners affected by or within 300 feet of a proposed map amendment will receive postcards with a link and QR code for the StoryMap in the coming days. You may also notice land use notice signs posted near the proposed changes.
The Planning Commission will hold a final work session on the plan at their Wednesday, September 18, 2024, meeting and will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, to review the plan and make a recommendation to City Council.
