Human Resources

  • The city is hiring Police Officers to fill current vacancies and have an expedited hiring process for entry level, entry level advanced, and lateral officers.   • The city is hiring for the new position of Revenue Development Specialist to support the Parks and Recreation Department. The first review of applications will be February 18, 2025; to be considered, you must apply before this date. This position performs specialized work to secure revenues for the Parks and Recreation Department.   • The city is hiring for the position of Senior Planner. This classification is the mid-level in the professional planner series. Under the direction of the Planning Manager or designee, the incumbent is part of a collaborative work team that performs a broad range of professional planning support functions and assists with special projects.   • The city is offering two Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification sessions. Learn how to identify a problem, understand what is causing it, and improve the way things get done. This course is open to anyone, and it is applicable to work in every industry. Registration is open for spring and fall sessions! Police Department

  • Interested in being an Explorer? The Lake Stevens Police Department Explorers receive educational training in purpose, mission, and objectives while examining a career in law enforcement. Students are challenged to become responsible citizens of their communities with career-oriented experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities such as Aquafest and National Night Out. The bi-annual Explorer Police Academy offers a focused, incentive training environment with classroom presentations, hands-on applications, team building, and a forearms range day taught by law enforcement professionals.     The Details:
    - Participants must be between 14 - 21 years old. 
    - Explorers with regular attendance and a 2.5 GPA or higher may be considered for on duty ride-alongs with police officers. 
    - Meetings are 6 pm to 8 pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month (Subject to change, email to confirm).

  • Attention high school seniors! The Arlington Garden Club is requesting scholarships applications. Students graduating from Arlington, Darrington, Granite Falls, Lakewood, Lake Stevens, Marysville Getchell, Marysville Pilchuck, Stanwood, or alternative high schools in these Western Districts are eligible to apply. The scholarship will go to students who are interested in a degree in horticulture, agriculture, biology, forestry, animal husbandry, or environmental science. The scholarship is up to $2,500 per student. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2025. For more information, including the application, visit: https://arlingtongardenclub.org/community-service
