Mayor's Office

  • On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, 8:30 am - 10:30 am, and Monday, March 24, 2025, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, community members are invited to join Mayor Brett Gailey at the Starbucks (next to MOD Pizza) at Frontier Village in Lake Stevens. Bring your questions or comments and chat over your favorite beverage with the Mayor. It’s a casual setting that provides the perfect opportunity to get to know your Mayor while discussing City-related topics that are important to you. 

Human Resources

  • The city is hiring Police Officers to fill current vacancies and have an expedited hiring process for entry level, entry level advanced, and lateral officers.   • The city is hiring a Community Service Officer. The position will provide a wide range of police services including but not limited to investigating and enforcing animal complaints, providing traffic control at city events or incidents, crime prevention and community interaction, and assisting public information officer with social media engagements and posts on department accounts.   • The city is hiring a Senior Planner! This recruitment will remain open until filled, with the first review of applications on March 19, 2025.   • The city is offering two Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification sessions. Learn how to identify a problem, understand what is causing it, and improve the way things get done. This course is open to anyone, and it is applicable to work in every industry. Registration is open for spring and fall sessions! Public Works 

Police Department

  • Interested in being an Explorer? The Lake Stevens Police Department Explorers receive educational training in purpose, mission, and objectives while examining a career in law enforcement. Students are challenged to become responsible citizens of their communities with career-oriented experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities such as Aquafest and National Night Out. The bi-annual Explorer Police Academy offers a focused, incentive training environment with classroom presentations, hands-on applications, team building, and a forearms range day taught by law enforcement professionals.     The Details:
    - Participants must be between 14 - 21 years old. 
    - Explorers with regular attendance and a 2.5 GPA or higher may be considered for on duty ride-alongs with police officers. 
    - Meetings are 6 pm to 8 pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month (Subject to change, email to confirm).

Parks and Recreation

  • Don’t have the space to grow food or flowers at home? The growing season is open for individuals to rent a garden plot at our Eagle Ridge Community Garden.   • Are you looking for ways your community group or business can volunteer?  We have Earth Day 2025 volunteer opportunities coming up at Lake Stevens Parks. Join us Thursday, April 24, from 6 pm to 8 pm for the Catherine Drive Earth Day Clean Up or Saturday, April 26, from 10 am to 12 pm for Earth Day at Eagle Ridge.   • The City of Lake Stevens received the WellCity Award from the Association of Washington Cities (AWC)! The AWC Employee Benefit Trust’s WellCity program recognizes members that achieve quality standards in employee health promotion. AWC Trust members that earned the 2025 WellCity Award receive a 2% premium discount on all medical premiums. This award demonstrates our dedication to employee health and overall wellness.   • Attention high school seniors! The Arlington Garden Club is requesting scholarships applications. Students graduating from Arlington, Darrington, Granite Falls, Lakewood, Lake Stevens, Marysville Getchell, Marysville Pilchuck, Stanwood, or alternative high schools in these Western Districts are eligible to apply. The scholarship will go to students who are interested in a degree in horticulture, agriculture, biology, forestry, animal husbandry, or environmental science. The scholarship is up to $2,500 per student. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2025. For more information, including the application, visit: https://arlingtongardenclub.org/community-service.
