- The City is prioritizing pedestrian safety and vehicle speed, by launching a pilot project to turn 117th/116th Avenue NE into a one-way couplet, with one lane of the existing road turned into a pedestrian path. This will not only create a safe path for pedestrians but will also help slow vehicle speed. This pilot project will be a month trial to see if this is a viable solution. Interested in learning more? The city is hosting two open houses to provide residents a chance to directly speak with the city and consultants. First Open House is Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, at The Mill. Second Open House is Monday, April 14, 2025, from 2:30 to 6:30 pm, at the corner of 116th Avenue NE and 25th Street NE. For more information, visit the project webpage: https://tinyurl.com/117th116th
