Mayor's Office

• On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, community members are invited to join Mayor Brett Gailey at the Starbucks (next to MOD Pizza) at Frontier Village in Lake Stevens. Bring your questions or comments and chat over your favorite beverage with the Mayor. It’s a casual setting that provides the perfect opportunity to get to know your Mayor while discussing City-related topics that are important to you.
• At the April 15, 2025, city council meeting, Mayor Brett Gailey presented the State of the City address. He discussed the city’s 2024 accomplishments, including APWA accreditation and the opening of West Lake Park. He talked about our goals for 2025, including capital projects and the new city hall campus. Mayor Gailey also took time to thank our community partners whose contributions and collaborations help support our residents and quality of life. As the city continues to grow, we will strive to continue to make Lake Stevens a great place for our residents to live, work, and play. Human Resources

• The city is hiring Police Officers to fill current vacancies and have an expedited hiring process for entry level, entry level advanced, and lateral officers. • The city is hiring seasonal positions! Interviews for Seasonal Maintenance Workers and Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers-Facilities will take place on Thursdays beginning March 20, 2025. Public Works 

• It's that time of the year! In partnership with Waste Management, the free Community Cleanup Event is happening Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9 am - 1 pm at Cavelero Mid-High School. Please contact Public Works at 425-622-9403 if you have questions. View the flyer below for details!
• We want to hear from you! Partnering with the Snohomish Conservation District, the city has created a space to engage with residents about Lake Stevens' water quality. Take a survey or join a discussion board to learn, interact, and build community around the lake we all love. Police Department

• Interested in being an Explorer? The Lake Stevens Police Department Explorers receive educational training in purpose, mission, and objectives while examining a career in law enforcement. Students are challenged to become responsible citizens of their communities with career-oriented experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities such as Aquafest and National Night Out. The bi-annual Explorer Police Academy offers a focused, incentive training environment with classroom presentations, hands-on applications, team building, and a forearms range day taught by law enforcement professionals.   The Details:
  - Participants must be between 14 - 21 years old. 
  - Explorers with regular attendance and a 2.5 GPA or higher may be considered for on duty ride-alongs with police officers. 
  - Meetings are 6 pm to 8 pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month (Subject to change, email to confirm).

• Mark your calendars! The City of Lake Stevens is hosting the Overdose & Prevention Town Hall: A Pathway to Hope on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at the Cavelero Mid-High Commons. The event will include presentations and a panel of local experts, followed by Q & A time. Local community resources will have tables set up to provide more information and answer questions. This event is open to the public and anyone interested is welcome. More information is coming soon!
• Looking for volunteer opportunities that allow you to support your local community? The city has an account with JustServe.org. This website gives organizations a place to showcase volunteer opportunities for people interested in volunteering. Visit the Lake Stevens Just Serve webpage.
• The city is looking to fill one vacancy on the Park Board, one vacancy on the Salary Commission and one vacancy on the Civil Service Commission.
