Mayor's Office 

• At the April 15, 2025, city council meeting, Mayor Brett Gailey presented the State of the City address. He discussed the city’s 2024 accomplishments, including APWA accreditation and the opening of West Lake Park. He talked about our goals for 2025, including capital projects and the new city hall campus. Mayor Gailey also took time to thank our community partners whose contributions and collaborations help support our residents and quality of life. As the city continues to grow, we will strive to continue to make Lake Stevens a great place for our residents to live, work, and play. Human Resources

• The city is hiring Police Officers to fill current vacancies and have an expedited hiring process for entry level, entry level advanced, and lateral officers. • The city is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist. This position oversees inventory flows, including acquisition, maintenance, and surplus of Public Works Department goods, services, and equipment to ensure efficient operations of maintenance crews and the Public Works shop. • Heads up 116/117 Avenue NE residents! Starting May 6 to June 3, 2025, carts must be placed in a new location on collection days. This change is necessary for the Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Pilot Project happening on 116 and 117 Avenue NE beginning May 5 to June 5, 2025. Thank you for your patience and support in making your neighborhood safer for pedestrians and vehicles during this pilot project. • We want to hear from you! Partnering with the Snohomish Conservation District, the city has created a space to engage with residents about Lake Stevens' water quality. Parks and Recreation

• Did you know Cavalero Hill Park is a county-managed park? During a recent playground inspection, Snohomish County has determined some elements need to be removed for safety. Visit the county's page for more details.

• Spring is here and it is time to clean out those closets and crannies! All Lake Stevens homes and neighborhoods are welcome to join our city-wide garage sale Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8, 2025, from 9 am to 4 pm. • THIS WEEK the City of Lake Stevens is hosting the Overdose & Prevention Town Hall: A Pathway to Hope on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at the Cavelero Mid-High Commons. The event will include presentations and a panel of local experts, followed by Q & A time. Local community resources will have tables set up to provide more information and answer questions. This event is open to the public and anyone interested is welcome.
