VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH PARK BOARD AND CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
The City of Lake Stevens is seeking to fill vacancies on:
Civil Service Commission– ONE MID-TERM VACANCY with a term expiring 12/31/2027:
The Civil Service Commission was created to accomplish the purposes of Chapter 41.12 RCW relative to the selection, appointment and employment of police officers within the City Police Department. The members serve without compensation and shall be a citizen of the United States and resident of the City of Lake Stevens for at least three years immediately proceeding such appointment. At the time of any appointment, not more than two Commissioners shall be adherents of the same political party. The Commission meets on an as-needed basis.
Park Board – ONE MID-TERM VACANCY with a term expiring 12/31/2027:
The Park Board shall be the principal planning advisory body for all matters relating to parks and the provision of recreation services to staff, Mayor and City Council. The Mayor and Council may appoint a member who resides or owns property within the City or the City’s Urban Growth Area. At least four members shall be residents of the City. The members of the Park Board shall serve without compensation. The board typically meets once a month.
