The city is launching a temporary pilot project to turn 117th and 116th Avenue NE into one-way streets, with one lane of the existing road turned into a pedestrian path. During the pilot, vehicles will move northbound on 117th Avenue NE and southbound on 116th Avenue NE. The goal of the project is to provide safer walking routes where there are currently no pedestrian accommodations. The city will gather traffic data and evaluate safety and overall public experience during the pilot. Additionally, the city will solicit and review public feedback and collaboration. This will help the city make informed decisions for a potential permanent design.
