Volunteers of America Western Washington is thrilled to announce that on Monday, January 18th, they will open their third Community Resource Center (CRC) in Lake Stevens.
Brett Gailey, Mayor, City of Lake Stevens, shares “I am excited to have a Volunteers of America Community Resource Center in the City of Lake Stevens. This center will make a positive impact in our community and help connect residents with the services they need”.
Lynsey Gagnon, Executive Director of Community Resource Centers for VOAWW, adds: "We are thrilled to be serving the Lake Stevens community and to be able to connect families and individuals to needed support. Whether it’s emergency food or diapers, help creating a resume, or even support to fill out an application for benefits, our resource centers are there to serve. We are out to support the Lake Stevens community to reach their fullest potential and thrive!"
The new Lake Stevens CRC will be led by longtime community advocate Tina Lawson, who has a rich history working in Lake Stevens.
Tina shares: "I'm extremely honored to be back in Lake Stevens, serving our most vulnerable neighbors. Through the years of my service in Lake Stevens, I've seen the needs of the people and the strengths in the community. I'm driven to help guide our neighbors towards sustainable employment, housing and most of all the confidence and strength to continue on a positive path."
The new Lake Stevens CRC will be open Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 4:00pm, by phone appointments only during Covid-19. It's located at The Lake Church: 9015 Vernon Road, Lake Stevens, WA 98258.
