At the October 25 City Council meeting, on behalf of the City Council, Mayor Gailey proclaims October 2022 as Hindu American Awareness and Appreciation Month in Lake Stevens.
The City would like to thank all who attended the first Diwali celebration in Lake Stevens on Monday, October 24. Diwali, or Dipawali, is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year, and over the centuries, has become a national festival enjoyed by non-Hindu communities, as well.
This celebration, also known as the Festival of Lights, was coordinated by The Mayor’s Community Advisory Council, The City of Lake Stevens staff, and The Indian Community Volunteers and held at The Mill and North Cove Park. Shubh Diwali!
