A message from Mayor Gailey:
The Costco project was started with my predecessor, Mayor John Spencer. John had the foresight to reach out to Costco and start the conversation that brought them here to Lake Stevens. From the City staff side, there are many to thank but I would like to specifically like to recognize Community Development Director Russ Wright, City Administrator Gene Brazel, Public Works Director Aaron Halverson, and those in city permitting for countless hours of planning and coordination.
A special thanks goes out to City Inspector Phil Stevens who has worked on-site for the past several months keeping the project running. Additionally, it is important to recognize the efforts of the Washington State Department of Transportation, the Lake Stevens Sewer District, and Snohomish County PUD for being great partners in this effort.
Lastly a big thank you to Costco for bringing their business to our city, a business including 300 jobs, fewer trips on the trestle, and the convenience of their goods and services closer to residents.
Mayor Brett Gailey
