[ARCHIVED] Potential algae bloom near Davies Beach

Photo of algae bloom in Lake Stevens

On Monday, January 30th, City staff noticed potential algae bloom along the lakeshore near Davies Beach. The appearance of the algae bloom warrants further investigation.

Out of an overabundance of caution, while we further investigate the occurrence, we are posting Toxic Algae Signs at each of the public beaches warning the public about this potential occurrence. We want to reiterate that we do not have confirmation if the algae observed yesterday contains toxins, but want to be overly cautious until we know more.

Please follow the warnings on the sign. The City will update the community as we know more information.

If you have any questions, please contact the Surface Water Manager at 425-330-8562.
