Biography
Tosha Edwards is a fifth-generation Washingtonian with deep roots in the state. Born and raised in Yakima, she spent part of her childhood in Dugway, Utah, and Camp Pendleton, California, while her stepfather served in the United States Marine Corps. She later settled in Everett, where she attended Everett Community College and built a career in retail sales management.
In 2012, Tosha returned to higher education while raising a young family. She earned an Associate's degree from Shoreline Community College in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with a concentration in Political Science from the University of Washington in 2014.
Following graduation, Tosha began working in the nonprofit sector, providing mentoring and case management services to at-risk teens and young adults and teaching a quarterly Career Development class at EvCC. This experience has helped shape her approach to community engagement, policy development, and advocacy. She values community connection and hopes to encourage continued community-building efforts throughout Lake Stevens.
Tosha and her family purchased their first home in Lake Stevens in 2015, where they have since established long-term roots. She and her partner of over 20 years, Craig, are raising three sons who attend Everett Community College and LSSD. Tosha believes communities thrive through strong connections and active participation and she looks forward to bringing that with her to council. She enjoys volunteering with several local organizations in support of community well-being and civic engagement, including her most recent "learn to fish" class she held for Lake Stevens families through a local non-profit.
Outside of her public service, Tosha also enjoys activities including exploring the outdoors, fishing, camping, and gardening in her backyard fruit and vegetable garden.
